Sunday, 15.4.07

Our group of 17 people from 7A, 7B and 7C met at Linz International Airport. After arriving at Stansted Airport we took the bus to Welling, which is where we stayed with our host families. In the evening we had dinner with them and afterwards we went to a pub.

Monday, 16.4.07

This day we had our first lessons at our school. We started very late - at 9 o’ clock, which we were not used to from Austria. We did some language exercises and then we talked to an immigrant from Kenia. In the afternoon we made a trip on a double decker bus and on a ship and we saw all the popular sights, like: Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Tower Bridge, etc…

Tuesday, 17.4.07

In Tuesday’s lessons we talked to a Police Constable which was a lot of fun. The afternoon programme was the Thames Tunnel and the Royal Observatory of Greenwich, where we celebrated Mr. Kargl’s  birthday. In the evening we went to the cinema.

Wednesday, 18.4.07

In the morning we had a different kind of English lesson: we had to do a survey in a park nearby. It was an interesting experience. After lunch we went to St. James Park to relax. We then went to “Hamley’s”, which is the biggest toy shop in the world. After strolling through the famous Carnaby Street, we watched artists at Covent Garden.

Thursday, 19.4.07

On Thursday we started our afternoon programme at “Harrod’s”, the world famous department store, which is near Hyde Park. Then we had a lot of spare time, most of us went to the “London Dungeon”, which is a “House of Horrors”. In the evening we saw an awesome musical: “The Lion King”.

Friday, 20.4.07

Friday morning we went to Bluewater Shopping Centre, which is the biggest shopping center in Europe. We took the bus back to London where we met the teachers. We saw Chinatown and Soho, which was interesting but also kind of scary. After this experience we calmed down at Tate Britain, which is an interesting art gallery.

Saturday, 21.4.07

We spent the morning at Camden Market, a market for tourists and young people. In the afternoon we were free to do whatever we wanted. Some of us went to a pub to watch an interesting football match, but also went shopping.

Sunday, 22.4.07

We told our host families good bye and then took the flight to Linz.

We all enjoyed our trip to London. Everybody was nice and we had good weather for the whole week!

“The programme was very interesting. I also found it good to have one free day for ourselves. I really enjoyed our trip”  (Schneeweiß Teresa)

“I liked that we had a lot of spare time. My favourite was Hyde Park, where we enjoyed the sun.” (Badhofer Thomas)

“We had a great week in London and at our host families. I’m really sad that time went by so quickly. I think I was able to improve my English.” (Kaltenbrunner Benedikt)
